ice lake basin - colorado August 12-14, 2011 One of the places I have always wanted to visit was Ice Lake Basin in the mighty San Juan Mountains. My wife and I took a quick backpacking trip to the basin and started at Clear Lake. We will definitely have to go back for a longer stay. |

elk mountains - colorado July 16-17, 2011 Needing a weekend away, my wife and I took a quick trip to Crested Butte and then on to the iconic Maroon Bells. |

the palouse - washington June 25-28, 2011 Spending a few days in The Palouse was an amazing time. Rolling hills, shades of green, and lots of wheat! It's a very rural area filled with photographic opportunities and this was my take during this summer season. |

mount rainier national park - washington July 29-31, 2010 I was excited about this trip to the famed Mount Rainier to capture the plethora of wildflowers. After doing a lot of research on the area and finding the typical peak season, I booked my flight. However, it turns out we were several weeks early. |

great sand dunes national park - colorado January 22-24, 2010 This marks the first winter camping trip I've done and I was excited to go on it, but a bit concerned I wouldn't stay warm enough. Despite the cold temperatures (~6F as a low) it was a trip well-worth it. |

fall colors 2009 - grand teton national park September 26-27, 2009 This year for the fall colors gold rush I had to take a quick trip because of the several longer trips I've done this year. So, instead of staying local in Colorado, my housemate and I spent the weekend at a place that's quickly becoming one of my favorites - Grand Teton National Park. |
