| ice lake basin - colorado August 12-14, 2011 One of the places I have always wanted to visit was Ice Lake Basin in the mighty San Juan Mountains. My wife and I took a quick backpacking trip to the basin and started at Clear Lake. We will definitely have to go back for a longer stay. |

| great sand dunes national park - colorado January 22-24, 2010 This marks the first winter camping trip I've done and I was excited to go on it, but a bit concerned I wouldn't stay warm enough. Despite the cold temperatures (~6F as a low) it was a trip well-worth it. |

So, instead of staying local in Colorado, my housemate and I spent the weekend at a place that's quickly becoming one of my favorites - Grand Teton National Park. |
